It’s possible to change a system
Every night, more than 116,000 people sleep homeless in Australia.
An additional 1.5 million people live in housing distress.
The problem of homelessness goes beyond not having access to safe shelter – it can have a devastating impact on a person’s health, wellbeing, and their ability to access work, education and community.
We believe that every Australian deserves to have a home where they feel safe and secure and we want to lead with purpose to help change the system.
We operate in a market where entrenched inequality exists. We believe this can change and are deeply committed to doing our bit to make it happen.
As a business, we put our money where our mouth is by contributing 1% of profits to our impact initiatives. We pride ourselves on our socially and environmentally responsible practices and, as a team, we dedicate our time to one pro-bono or volunteer initiative per quarter.
Through our Make it Possibl Initiative, we partner with specialist homelessness services to amplify their impact and meet an urgent need in the housing sector and our community at large.
There is a shortage of over 600,000 social and affordable homes in Australia. This is projected to grow to over 1 million by 2036.
With over 116,000 people homeless in Australia, crisis accommodation services are turning away more than half of those seeking new accommodation, mainly due to this lack of accommodation and decline in public housing stock.
Nobody should have to live without a safe and secure roof over their head. At Possibl, we want to help end Australia’s housing crisis.
That’s why we provide funds to build social & affordable housing for those most in need in each state and territory.
Access to credit is essential to ensuring we feel safe, secure and comfortable in our home. We want to play our part in supporting Australia’s most vulnerable to safely access the credit they need to improve their home and get ahead in life.
Possibl is currently establishing a no interest loan scheme to enable individuals and families on low incomes to access safe and affordable credit without the barrier of fees and interest. Loans will facilitate the purchasing of household goods and services. This might be a fridge, a washing machine, a heater or household repairs.
